# Runway 3 Project for HK Airport - Hong Kong Airport Guide

After studying the HK hotels more – we learned about a new Runway 3 (I would call it a Terminal 3) that is set to open in 2022, 2024.

Public consultation of HKIA Master Plan 2030

2014  
Approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment report and issue of the Environmental Permit

2016  
Commencement of the construction of the three-runway system

2018  
Completion of the installation of two new 5.2-kilometre aviation fuel pipelines using the environmentally-friendly horizontal directional drilling technique

2020  
Completion of reclamation

2022  
Opening of the new North Runway

2024  
Completion of the three-runway system
